Detail

Open – ended timing belts are continuous power – transmission components with teeth on one side. They are not endless loops like traditional timing belts. Instead, they are of a specified length and are often used in linear motion applications or when a non – looped belt configuration is required. They ensure accurate power transmission and synchronization between components by meshing with corresponding pulleys.

Materials:

  • Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU): High wear resistance (3 – 5 times longer lifespan than rubber), oil resistance, flexibility (-30°C to 80°C tolerance), low noise (<60 dB), and easy processing (weldable/open – ended connections).
  • Rubber: High elasticity, wide temperature tolerance (-60°C to 200°C for modified types), good water resistance (for synthetic rubbers like NBR), and high surface friction.
  • Nylon: Excellent wear resistance and low friction coefficient, suitable for some low to medium load applications.
  • Fiber Reinforcements: FLightweight (density: 1.44 g/cm³) yet extremely strong.
  • PVC: Low cost, chemical resistance but poor cold tolerance (-10°C).

 

Types:

  • Open-Ended: Engineered with specific materials to balance durability, precision, and adaptability for diverse industrial applications.
  • Endless: Extruded without welding, making them the most robust construction type for power transmission applications.
  • Green Fabric Reinforcement: Enhances flexibility and durability.
